Monticello Pocket Park

May 11, 2015  (Monticello - Corporate Office)

Monticello, IA – Heather Campbell, HR Communication Specialist, presented a donation of $1,000 from Innovative Ag Services; (IAS) that was matched with funds from Land O’ Lakes Foundation for a total of $2,000. This donation was given to the Pocket Park Project in Monticello, IA to help with the construction of a park that will be located in downtown Monticello.

The projected cost for the Pocket Park is $95,150. After a devastating fire on Monticello’s 1st street in 2012 that destroyed several local businesses and apartments above the businesses, the City of Monticello decided to start the Pocket Park Project in a now vacant lot to bring the community back together. The park is to be completed in 2015 with continued improvements planned for the future.

This new Pocket Park will be open to the public and will be used for relaxation, providing WiFi, a casual meeting area, and music/art events. The Chamber will also use the park for Chamber Events including Fun on Friday Nights, Monti in Motion food area and for other organizations and businesses to use.
