IAS Hosts Brazil Pioneer Tour

September 18, 2015  (Alden)

Alden, IA-On August 31, 2015 Innovative Ag Services had the pleasure of having a group of 27 Pioneer sales representatives from Brazil, with 2 of their Pioneer interpreters come to tour the facility. They learned about the roles of cooperatives in Iowa Agriculture and how IAS provides value and service for farmers. The group had particular interest in rail load out and how the United States transports grain.

Tours of the facility were led by Dan Birchmier – IAS Ellsworth, Location Manager and

Stewart Hughes – IAS Grain Originator.

While at the IAS Alden location the sales representatives were given an overview of the IAS coop, IAS business units, and IAS’s geographical locations. The Pioneer sales representatives also learned what is required to be a member of the IAS coop and what the benefits are of being a member along with the services and products IAS provides to customers.

Next they were then taken over to the elevator and given an overview of its capacity and capabilities for receiving and handling corn and beans. From there the students were led to the train load out. The students were informed of what was involved with Alden’s train loading operations. The facility was loading a train while there so they got to see this first hand.

This tour was a great opportunity for IAS to support our vendors and to educate others on how our cooperative works. If you or someone you know would like to set up a tour, please contact Craig Schroeder at 319-465-2022 Ext: 128, Renee Dubberke at 641-864-2561 Ext: 20 or your nearest Location Manager.
