IAS Hosts Beef Tour to Nebraska

August 9, 2013  (Monticello - Corporate Office)

Innovative Ag Services took over 60 beef producers for an overnight feedlot tour in Nebraska on August 6th and 7th. The first day started out with visiting a current customer’s operation to see their newly constructed beef confinement buildings in Jesup, Iowa. We then continued to West Point, Nebraska to stop at two feedlots that averaged 5,000 head of cattle. We had great hospitality at Harry Knobbe’s feedlots and had an awesome steak dinner that night while he informed our producers about the markets.

The next morning we were up bright and early to make our first stop at Weborg Feedlots in Pender, Nebraska. Weborg Feedlots currently have around 18,000 head of cattle which was the largest feedlot we visited on the tour. The group then continued to CD Feedlots in Hartington, Nebraska for a tour of their facilities. Our last stop was both entertaining and exciting as we saw a large collection of cars and antique tractors as this producer was happy to show off his “toys” and his operation.

The trip was a great experience for producers to gain knowledge about how other producer’s operations work. Innovative Ag Services would like to thank everyone who made this tour a success!
