IAS Donates to Aiming For a Cure

April 28, 2013  (Monticello - Corporate Office)

Mike Duncomb, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, presented a donation to Steve Ries, President of the Aiming for a Cure Foundation. The focus of the Foundation is to impact the lives of young people who are in the pediatric oncology unit through financial assistance, comfort items and pediatric cancer research. Innovative Ag Services' donation of $2,600 was partially matched with funds from the Land O' Lakes Foundation for a total of $4,100. In addition to funding for pediatric cancer research, our donation will help them provide $500 stipends to every family with a child undergoing a bone-marrow transplant to be spent on unreimbursed expenses. They also maintain a rainy day fund for unusual situations (i.e. help pay for a child's funeral or a family's heating bill). They also sponsor a shopping spree for two UI Children's hospital families to purchase books, games, videos and other larger items to make the families
stay more comfortable and manageable.
