Interns Participate in IAS Roundtable Event

June 11, 2014  (Monticello - Corporate Office)

Monticello, IA – On Wednesday 6/4, all interns traveled to Cedar Falls, IA to participate in the first of two summer roundtable events. The roundtable events are held to allow the interns, to network with each other, learn about other interns’ experiences, and listen to IAS Employees speak about their departments.

On Wednesday 6/4, the interns had a great opportunity to talk as a large group about their experiences. They talked about what they have learned, what they have enjoyed, any difficulties they may be having, and what else they would like to accomplish this summer.

After the discussion was completed, the interns heard presentations by Mike Duncomb, VP of Feed, Zach Nosbisch, Eastern Grain Marketing Manager, and Craig Schroeder, HR Generalist II. Mike discussed with the interns about how the Feed Business Unit operates and some of the ins and outs of how all parts of the units operate together. Zach presented on how grain origination operates and the details of the Grain Business Unit. Craig provided tips on interviewing and the importance of benefits, when looking for future employment.

The morning concluded with lunch, where again; the interns were able to network with each other and company representatives. The next roundtable event for the interns will be held in July.
