August 21, 2013 (Manchester)
Thank you for taking time to attend our final Innovative Advanced Solutions Field Day of the season on Tuesday, August 20th at the Manchester Answer Plot! We had over 90 growers in attendance to learn about what was going on in their fields, what they should look for as we head into the end of this season and what to consider for next year’s planning.
During this session, the growers were broken down into groups and attended five 20-minute sessions led by our educated team of Agronomy Advisors. Session one covered corn plant characterization, the importance of matching the right genetics on your soil types and the significance of yield data analysis when making your seed decisions for the 2014 growing season. Session two covered medium and high management corn cropping systems and gave growers an opportunity to view the difference in the ear. During session three we discussed the omission plot and the effects of pulling inputs away from the cropping system. During sessions four and five we heard from our seed partners: Syngenta/NK and Monsanto/Dekalb-Asgrow. They discussed rootworm control as well as how to approach resistant weeds in our fields.
Innovative Ag Services would once again like to thank everyone who attended the Innovative Advanced Solutions Field Day and we look forward to meeting with you at the farm gate to plan for the 2014 season!
